On Eagles' Wings

Choir practices have officially started. Last Saturday was our first full-day practice. From 9am-10pm. Yes, you read right. 9AM to 10PM. >.< Although it sucks, I have to reluctantly concede that it is absolutely necessary. :( This coming weekend is the Convocation Ceremony. Four days from Saturday up to Tuesday. We have to learn up to 12 songs for our repertoire, excluding the four compulsory songs consisting of the national anthem, the Negeri Sembilan state anthem (because our Chancellor is from Negeri Sembilan) and two varsity songs. We only have but a week (literally a WEEK! I am  not  exaggerating!) to learn all the songs! I thank God for the new juniors this year. We had quite the "harvest" this time round--19 of them! :D Hopefully they will turn out to be faithful members of Choir who will stick with us because they love the Choir :) Meeting them and getting to know them has been an interesting and enjoyable experience. We have quite a number of guys...

Today was the Choir's last practice for the academic session of 2010/2011. Though it means free-er Sundays, it also means saying goodbye to Choir people I've known for 3 years now, who will be leaving UKM as they graduate and grow up from this place. And that makes me sad. :( My roomie is leaving this year ! T.T It didn't even strike me until we were standing in a semi-circle around the piano, as per usual, singing songs we've learned in the past, which brought back sweet memories. And as I looked at all the faces around me, I realized, I may not see some of them anymore after this (or not as often as I'd like T.T). We've had some really good times together. The love for singing was what brought us here in the first place. True, there were some stressful times that very nearly broke me. But through it all, I always had these people whom I could count on.  Convo 38 (2010) in our hideous  Barney costumes MayMay and Chrissy are leaving me too T.T...

THIS is why I've been so busy I have not had the time, nor the energy to blog. More updates soon ! If I have time. Provided I have the energy, of course. xD p.s: The title of this post is because of our very purple, very shiny kebayas . We've nicknamed them "Barney" costumes. And horrifyingly, yes, we most likely will be wearing that for the next Convo. And the one after that. (They're quite new, you see. >.<) btw, my handphone's camera takes awesomely clear/sharp pictures out in the sun ! Kan?  :D

Looking at the new first-year juniors, I feel old. Yes, at 21, I actually feel old . I guess it is true like they say, that age is relative. Although it is only a small two year gap between us third years and the first years, I can't help thinking that we are so very different. I have had more than one experience with irresponsible people. But choir auditions and practices this year have given me more than my fair share ! >.< Those who do not come for practices without informing you. Those who "forgot" there was a practice even after having been reminded repeatedly. Those who say yes, they are willing to commit, and then never to see their batang hidung  anywhere thereafter. Those who tell you, yes they will be there for a make-up audition session, and you get there early just for the sake of giving them a fair chance to find that there is nobody there. And you end up waiting for an hour for nothing. It's quite perplexing isn't it? May...

You must be wondering what time interval that is. haha. Well, I watched 6 episodes (3 each) of Prison Break and One Tree Hill back-to-back in one sitting - a full five and a half hours. I went back for the weekend. What do you expect?? How come? you ask? Every week when I do not go back, my brother records all my favourite shows for me with our VCR (yes, we still have one. It must be worth millions now in its antiquity). He would usually record Gilmore Girls (Saturdays, 10.30pm 8TV), One Tree Hill (Sundays, 10.30pm 8TV), Prison Break (Mondays, 10.30pm 8TV) , Ugly Betty (Tuesdays, 9.30pm 8TV) and Desperate Housewives (Tuesdays, 10.30pm 8TV) for me so I can come back during the weekend, and sit back and enjoy my faves. Can you see why I LOVE 8TV?????!!!!! heeee *beams* So, since I haven't gone back for 3 weeks already, he actually ran out of tape. Duh. I mean, there's 5 different TV series, and 3 weeks worth of episodes. Do the math. 5 X 3 X...

...Recipe!! Haha last night Eugene, our choir master of Artisukma Choir treated us all to Secret Recipe cakeys!! XD Ooh, they looked soo good..... I L-O-V-E Choc Indulgence!! It just melts in your mouth don't it?? :) This was my 1st time trying Cappuchino Cheese. Wasn't too bad. Tastes of...Cappuchino. And cheese. Duh. I like Cappuchino. And I like cheese. But the combination? Hm, just a'ite for me. Oh, well. haha I thought this was such a Kodak moment! Nana feeding Davie cakey!! Macam malam perkahwinan kan? Bila bride dan groom suap each other le. Davie was like, "No, NO!! Don't take my picture!!" And he posed and paused while I snapped it. Ahah. When he saw the picture, he was like, "No la, looks like my own hand only." Hmm, he's right.
