When I First Met You

Image
Can you believe it has been 3 years since I first stepped foot in UKM as a first year undergraduate student? I can't believe it. Though it doesn't exactly feel like just yesterday, it certainly doesn't feel like three years . Going to a foreign place, a new temporary home, with no friends and far away from my family was a nerve-wrecking experience. "It's going to be exciting!" people tell me. But it comforts me none. I wonder if I'm ever going to fit in, to get used to all this newness. The first photo of Nana and I :) Then I meet my new room mate, whose first question to me is "Are you a Chinese?" It takes me completely by surprise, because I never thought I ever looked anything but  Chinese. Apparently not. I tell I  am , in fact, Chinese, last I checked. Didn't I look like one? She laughs and apologizes, explaining that that wasn't what she meant. Only that she was pleasantly surprised to be roomed with a fellow C...

Fin.

Isn't it ironic that when I was in the midst of exams, I blogged almost every day? But when I'm completely free with no more studying to do, it takes me more than a week to post something up on my blog? It really is a mystery, ain't it? I guess it's just human nature--we look for whatever reason not  to do something we should. Cos we hate it. >.< Anyway, I guess I missed out on the countdown after Four down, three more to go . A little more than halfway. :) Well, I had Teaching of Writing Skills in an ESL Context  on Wednesday (20.4.2011). I memorized like crazy for that one. Types of Writing, the Models of L1 and L2 Writing, the Design Principles of Writing Instruction, Social Networking Tools in Teaching Writing.  But the essay questions were not what I had expected. The changes  in the use of social networking tools in the future? The changes  in conservative methods to incorporate social networking tools? Yikes. Well, sure. I can ...

A Pretty Good Day

Image
For the first time in days, I was completely absorbed in my studying that I'd forgotten about the world outside. I was rushing to finish going through the text book and slides for my first paper so I could try out some sample questions before the Big Day. Hence, the furious mugging. Only today, though. Still, an achievement, eh? :D Then, a knock on my door. "Sasaaaa~" My ex-roomie, feeling bored, came up to my room to "stretch her legs" and " kacau " me. (Her words, not mine :P) In less than half an hour since she'd dropped by my room, we'd made plans to head out to Kajang for dinner at 99 Food Court--a place I'd last been to eat TWO YEARS AGO. Yeah, I know. I gotta get out more @.@ While I ran to the toilet for my pre-going-out pee and ran back to my room to grab my purse and change, I thought about the last time I'd gone out with my ex-roomie. Just me and her. *gasp* I couldn't r...

Taking A Break

Image
Okay. After having gotten up early today to pore over my notes for the upcoming finals, gobbling down my breakfast so I could study more, I'm finally going to take a break. Okay. I lied. I woke at 9.30am after snoozing my alarm for half an hour. I took my own sweet time having my breakfast of Koko Krunch and milk. I've been tweaking around with the layout and colour scheme for my blog, and browsing Facebook and Twitter too all morning. I have yet to start studying for the day. Taking a break konon . HAH. Well, I guess it's somehow a good thing when I get the mood to blog? :D In retrospect, my last two posts seem rather harsh. However, you have to excuse me. I was clacking away, hard, at my keys in that moment of anger. Had to release all that somehow. >.< Anyway, update on that: I haven't seen my dear neighbour much this past week. I was at home for the weekend. And apparently, she's been busy herself. I notice her ...

I'm a Serembanian. Really.

Image
I was born and bred in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. I've lived here all the 22 years of my life so far. I went to school here; primary, secondary and Pre-U studies. I've gone to lepak  with friends in various hang out places here. But the fact of the matter is, ask me where anything is, and I might actually not know. Ask me to drive around Seremban town, and I will most likely get lost. So imagine my horror when a bunch of my KL friends (David, Chrissy, MayLee and David's friend, Thaddeus) were planning a day trip down to Seremban (of all places ! =.=) to come kacau visit me. It all started with David. He called me up. "Hey, wanna go sing K?" (It's karaoke-ing, in case you didn't know.) "Come up to KL la , then we sing together-gether !" "Huh? Why on earth would I go allllllll the way up to KL to sing K when we have it here in Seremban also?" I was totally unprepared for the horror that...

And the Cycle Begins Again

Image
No, I'm not talking about a woman's "time of the month".  Of course not that  kind of cycle. Sheesh.  Have I nothing else to blog about? (On second thought......nevermind.) I'm referring to the cycle of having to return back to uni after a blissful two months of doing nothing but eat, sleep, online, watch TV, dramas and anime, endure another 5 months of hellish work and assignments, and back to the holidays. I mean, after two months of eat-sleep-online-watch-TV-dramas-and-anime, it's definitely hard to come back to non-civilization. (I mean Bangi.) I'll miss my mum and dad, my little bro (now all alone at home). I'll miss not having to do anything (and by anything  I mean house chores and such). (Yes, my mum spoils me rotten ! >.<) I'll miss my bed (currently adorning a dark rich maroon which I simply love ! I mean, the colour just makes it look slimmer !) (Hm, maybe I should make it into a dress someday.) I'll miss my cudd...
