On Eagles' Wings

Now, here's something you don't expect to see while walking back to your college on a scorching mid-evening day: Can you see it?   What IS that??? It's a fish. (Fried to a crisp from the burning sun, I suppose.) I am totally not kidding. These photos are 100% authentic, and not doctored in any way. Jessie is my witness. She saw the weird, dried-up fish too ! @.@ I was on my way back to my college, just passing by the construction area down the slope along Pusat Pengajian Am (PPU) when I noticed something which I thought was a piece of wood. It wasn't. @.@ I wonder how it got there? Any ideas?

The sad truth is that human beings are self-centered. We may mask it pretty well sometimes, but in the core, we're selfish. Always have been, and somehow I doubt that innate nature is going to change anytime soon. We lie, we cheat, we steal, we kill, we hurt, we backstab, we shove, we abandon, we neglect, we take advantage. And wouldn't you agree that most of the time, we do them for selfish reasons? It's always "Me, Myself and I". It's now rare to find people who actually genuinely care about other people besides themselves. :( Here's a poem that I heard during the sermon today. And it really struck me. The author may have written it with a hint of light-heartedness, meant to amuse, but I know she meant more than that. I read it, and I feel sad. If we do not change our me-myself-and-I-ways, we're gonna end up being sad, pathetic, lonely people who have nobody who cares about them at all. THE TEA PARTY I had a little tea party ...

Just got back from Choir Night -- our Choir's annual dinner cum Annual General Meeting (AGM) :D Man, I'm stuffed ! @.@ Too lazy to post up pictures and talk about it. Just yet. (I'm feeling the signs of a headache coming on -- lack of sleep, ARGH ! =.=) I promise, I'll blog about that later. :D (On second thought, I'll rescind that. My thesis deadline is up soon and I'm so  not done !!!! T.T) But I wanted to show you what I'd done with my nails these past two weeks ! This is silver. Aren't they simply gorgeous ? :D And they totally  match my jeans !!! :P I kinda like the silver. But Jessie said they were too "Lady Gaga" for me :( And Sam said that I suited sweeter colours like pastels, not silver T.T I don't care. I like them ! :D They're the BOMB !!!!! xD Then I also tried dark maroon/red, with 3 spots of silver in a row. After my last post almost 2 weeks ago, did you worry that they had killed me and dumped my body in some jungle area in UKM (which would definitely ensure that my dead body would never be found @.@)? Nah. I'm still here :) Well, I guess I should tell you how the meeting went now, shouldn't I? Should I? Or shouldn't I? I should. Shouldn't I? :D (That was an indirect lesson in question tags ! :P) (I mean the 'should I' 'shouldn't I' part.) (Nevermind. =.=) Well, first off, a quick count revealed that there were almost ten of us who had received that damned letter. I can't tell you the relief I felt knowing I wasn't the only one. Still, the fear was there, whether I wanted to admit it or not. But there was safety in numbers, wasn't there? (Totally the wrong context, but whatever :P) We were at the meeting room maybe ten minutes past nine that night. Coincidentally (or not, I don't know. But rather fishy, methinks...

Guess what? They really do keep their word. When they told me that should I decide not to pay , I had to answer to Mr. Rahim, our college FELO and Palapes officer, they totally meant it ! >.< I received a letter today, from the Jawatankuasa Kebajikan Siswa/i (JAKSA) Kolej Tun Hussein Onn, signed by the Pengarah (Head) of FESSAT 10, and approved by the Principal Kapten Dr. Azahan Awang. They requested Ms. Lisa Kwan Su Li, resident of K3G 403 to attend a meeting on the 16th of February 2011 (Wednesday) at 9.00pm in the Meeting Room of KTHO. Apparently, if you do not attend the meeting with Mr. Rahim tomorrow, a JAKSA committee member or FELO would pay you a visit in your room and "berurusan dengan anda" (deal with you). Well.  Let's pray I don't burst into tears tomorrow. Hopefully I'll still be alive to update you on what happened. >.<

I've been busy this past week.  But who hasn't? :P I have tons of work to do -- a huge pile actually, sitting beside me, giving me the evil eye for having ignored them for the entire week's break. Well, don't look at me like that !  It's Chinese New Yearrrrr ~ All that good food and very red angpows for the taking ! I mean, it's positively my obligation , my duty ! I can't just shirk my responsibilities now, can I? That would be so wrongggg~ Especially since family members have been slogging to cook very scrumptious, nutritious delicacies for their favourite grandchildren ! And neatly packed red tens and blue fifties in their respective red packets. I'm just showing my appreciation :) The Three Musketeers :D Chinese New Year this year has been rather quiet.
