Them Babies

Image
I've always adored babies. I still do. Sure, children can be a handful --they can get antsy, they can't sit still, they talk too much, they don't listen to a word you say, they bang on the keys of the piano even though you've told them not to . (Had my fair share of dealing with children in the music class I teach. Don't say I don't know. >.<) The trigger for this rambling: three kids playing "fishing" (with actual nets!)  in church the other day. I couldn't resist capturing them in a photo :P But somehow, babies just warm my heart. :) (Well, excluding the diaper-changing and spit-up cleaning.) I think they have this natural ability to make me smile whenever I see them--with their drooling chin and almost-there baby teeth, or their rubber band wrists and their chubby little cheeks. And their smile. They have such a cute smile :D I've reached the stage where , when I look at babies, I think of motherhood, and by mother...

The Last Day of 2010 Already?

Image
It's the last day of 2010. I always used to find it so amusing that when it was January, I would wish it was December (maybe cos of holidays and Christmas? *shrugs*) and groan about how long it will be before then. Then when it is the end of year, I wonder how time can pass by that quickly when it still feels like September, or something. =.= I've been blog-hopping and, with the end of the year coming fast, everyone's been writing a " 2010 in a nutshell " or " My 2010 " or " My 2010 in one post " or " 10 Most Important Things Happened in 2010 " -- basically a recap of what they've done/accomplished in the past year. It's a good tradition to have. In fact, my church has an annual Watch Night service on the last day of the year --a very reflective and solemn service-- to ring in the New Year with a heart of gratitude for everything that has happened in the past year, good or bad, and start the coming year wi...

Star light, Star bright, First star I see tonight, Wish I may, Wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight. ~ Jethro from classic Disney movie Pinocchio I'm a very simple person. I don't ask for much. A Dream Come True

The following was actually posted in my academic blog . After rereading it the other day, I thought I'd post it here too. Shows you a little bit more of who I am ;P I know, sounds cliche, but honestly, I speak from the heart when I say it is truly a dream come true to be doing the course that I want (TESL = Teaching English as a Second Language, in case you've forgotten) and one step closer to the career I have always aspired to achieve. Okay, well, I had my ups and downs on the path to discovering what I truly wanted to do with my life. But teaching had always been at the back of my mind, patient, waiting, as I struggled and explored other options, but always knowing that I would return; I could not deny what was in my heart. I knew, deep down inside, my place was with those who had a love for teaching. *sobs* What a "touching" story!! I have got to stop watching too many romantic comedy movies..... -_-"' Well, back to serious business. Ahem ahem ...
