It's That Time Again--My Nails!

Image
I'm such a horrible person. I want to blog, but I don't know what to blog about (cos I'm a boring person, that's what >.<) although I do have a few outfits lined up for future fashion posts but unfortunately, I am not really in the mood for it at the moment, so just to blog for the sake of blogging, I'm gonna talk about my nails. Yes, it's that time again-- nails . Don't pretend you don't love it! xD Anyway, I've forgotten when I got these done already, it's been so long ago. These are all backlogs of photos of my then-current nail polish designs that thoroughly thrilled me at the time! Dark shimmery purple from Elianto with bright red stripes from K-Le (Korean brand).  Can you see them? :) (I hate that my 2.0 mp camera doesn't take close-ups of my nails very well. The colours look more awesome in real-life, I swear! It just doesn't do them justice T.T) By far, this is my most favourite design! They look really pretty aft...

An Alternative Career?

Image
I was itching to paint my nails. Although sometimes (very rarely) I like seeing my bare *gasp* naked nails in their original colour, I do prefer them in PRETTY COLOURS--other than nude, of course :D Which is why I even have posts dedicated just to the updates on my current nail colour :) So. Here's the latest ! :D On my left hand:   Purple tips on silver And on my right: Silver tips on purple How do you like them? Different hand, different colour some more ar . Chun lerrrr~  xD My friend complimented me on them just a few days ago ! Said they were awesome (although she liked the silver tips on purple better--more striking !!! :D) !! Hm, what do you think of me opening a manicure/pedicure and nail parlour in the future? You know, just in case the teaching thing doesn't work out? haha~ :P

Murukku for Sale!

Image
The other day, I made murukku . Okay, fine. I didn't actually make them on my own. I just helped my aunt make them :) This is how murukku looks like :) Do you know what  murukku is?   It is actually an Indian traditional snack that is made out of flour, butter and spices, normally served during Deepavali (Indian Festival of Lights) but is now enjoyed by all Malaysians--Indians and nons alike--at any time in the year. :D My aunt, for example, loves them, and makes them to give to friends and colleagues. Even my Phor Phor  enjoys them ! After every bite she sneaked from our murukku jar, she'd say "Ooh, yummy yummy!" (Well, not exactly in those words--she said that it was 'nice to eat'  in Hakka --but that's what she meant anyway :P) So I went over to help my aunt make them. I helped her squeeze the dough through the mold to make the murukku  strips (I have no idea what to call them =.=) and my Phor Phor  was in charge of frying them (cos bo...

Lazy Bum No More?

Image
In the spirit of let's-not-be-lazy-bums-and-get-off-your-butt-and-do-some-exercise, I went for line dancing on Wednesday morning, and for Praise Exercise on Thursday morning. Since they're both on every week, I think I'll try to commit to that.  Cos I doubt sitting on my bum in front of the computer all day every day is very healthy. Though, it does encourage finger exercise (from typing). Line dancing What's Praise Exercise? It's a little like tai chi  in that it involves a lot of stretching, and works on all parts of your body. It's not as vigorous as line dancing, or as fast-paced. Line dancing is just a lot of footwork, and not a whole-body workout.  Praise Exercise had me sweating bullets by the end of it, while line dancing barely broke my sweat. But that was probably because I was too focused on where my feet were supposed to be, and not on the dancing part. >.< Both were populated by aunties--those who are retired, or housewives, ...

Fin.

Isn't it ironic that when I was in the midst of exams, I blogged almost every day? But when I'm completely free with no more studying to do, it takes me more than a week to post something up on my blog? It really is a mystery, ain't it? I guess it's just human nature--we look for whatever reason not  to do something we should. Cos we hate it. >.< Anyway, I guess I missed out on the countdown after Four down, three more to go . A little more than halfway. :) Well, I had Teaching of Writing Skills in an ESL Context  on Wednesday (20.4.2011). I memorized like crazy for that one. Types of Writing, the Models of L1 and L2 Writing, the Design Principles of Writing Instruction, Social Networking Tools in Teaching Writing.  But the essay questions were not what I had expected. The changes  in the use of social networking tools in the future? The changes  in conservative methods to incorporate social networking tools? Yikes. Well, sure. I can ...

On a Rainy Day

Image
The weather in Malaysia is absolutely crazy. It might be scorching hot in the morning and afternoon, then rain buckets in the evening. Or it could just simply be sunny and warm, then drizzly in the afternoons. Either way, while the rain is cooling, and normally gives me an urge to cuddle under the covers in my bed and not go anywhere, it's annoying when you're still out of your room and figuring out how to get back without getting wet. I'm not such a princess that I can't  get wet from the rain. But come onnnnn. Jeans? No no no no no. Not when I'm wearing jeans. When they're wet, I feel icky. >.< I'd rather not walk, but taking a bus when it's raining is most probably going to be a herculean effort of trying to squeeze yourself into an already full bus. Coupled with the fact that you'd be pressed up against others who are equally as damp and sticky as you are from the rain. Or they'd have umbrellas dripping rain water all over your...
