This Old Man

I grew up with nursery rhymes. I don't remember actually learning them in kindergarten, but give me one line, and I'll be able to tell you the rest. Well, most of it anyway. I guess Tadika Kiddyhouse did a good job in teaching kids their nursery rhymes. (No, no, no understanding needed. Just rote memorization! Good job!) :D I can remember every word to "Hey Diddle Diddle". If you ask me nicely I can sing it for you :) Hey Diddle diddle The cat and the fiddle The cow jumped over the moon The little dog laughed to see such sport And the dish ran away with the spoon. One question though: Have you ever wondered what these children's nursery rhymes mean? We've always accepted the unacceptable in nursery rhymes. How a cat learned to play a fiddle, how a cow can jump over the moon, how a dog can laugh, and how dishes can elope with spoons. But one nursery rhyme that's kinda got me stumped is "This Old Man." This old man, he played one...

Check Me Out!

Another fashion post ahead! :D Wore this outfit to church one Sunday. Was feeling cheerful and bersemangat  so I wore something that looked like I had put a little more effort into it than usual :P Ta-daaaa! Overall look :) Purple contact lenses yo! My friend has told me that this pair makes me look scary, but somehow, I love them! Don't they look absolutely gorgeous ? :D (Am I supposed to state where I got them too? =.=) They're Korean, called Fairy Violet; got them from a friend of mine.  Cost me just RM 38 to last me a year! :) Oh, and those chilli red diamond-shaped ear rings were from one of the  shops selling them at "3 for RM10" at Sg. Wang. (I love them when my outfit is plain and I just need some bright colour! :D) Checked blouse: brandless. A gift from dear Sandra again! :) Indigo-blue mini skirt: Fourskin. Also given to me by Sandra :P View from the top! (Not like it's a very long way down, you know,  being vertically-challenged and all =.=) Ful...

My name is Melosa Mendes. And you? What is your name? I am twenty two years old. I am from Seremban, and I'm Malaysian. I study English. haha I'm not sure if that's right. Self-composed, y'all. Not copied from any text book. Impressive? :D Not really. We've learned much more than this in just three  classes. Darn. My head feels about to explode ! I hate grammar ! >.< And we've already learned to count to a hundred in Spanish. And even ask for a person's telephone number (Cual es tu numero telefono?). You know, just in case we meet a hot Spanish guy . But I doubt I'd be able to catch his number -- they speak so fast !!! @.@ And I hate grammar ! (Oh, did I say that already?) But no matter what, I'm still  loving Spanish classes....

No Dirty Rubbish !

Saw something funny today that I thought I'd share with you. I had just bought my lunch of kebab from N'Zar Bakery in Pusanika, and was walking back to my hostel when I came across this: A sticker on the lid of a trash can @.@ I literally took a double take and walked back towards it to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me ! =.= Well, I guess I understand 'wet' rubbish -- they don't want it to smell and get sticky and icky. But DIRTY rubbish?? I had no idea we had CLEAN rubbish !! It's rubbish , for goodness' sake. Things people throw away. I guess this dustbin must be the high-class one. Only DRY and CLEAN rubbish allowed !!!! @.@ Weird.

I'm a Serembanian. Really.

I was born and bred in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. I've lived here all the 22 years of my life so far. I went to school here; primary, secondary and Pre-U studies. I've gone to lepak  with friends in various hang out places here. But the fact of the matter is, ask me where anything is, and I might actually not know. Ask me to drive around Seremban town, and I will most likely get lost. So imagine my horror when a bunch of my KL friends (David, Chrissy, MayLee and David's friend, Thaddeus) were planning a day trip down to Seremban (of all places ! =.=) to come kacau visit me. It all started with David. He called me up. "Hey, wanna go sing K?" (It's karaoke-ing, in case you didn't know.) "Come up to KL la , then we sing together-gether !" "Huh? Why on earth would I go allllllll the way up to KL to sing K when we have it here in Seremban also?" I was totally unprepared for the horror that...

And the Cycle Begins Again

Image
No, I'm not talking about a woman's "time of the month".  Of course not that  kind of cycle. Sheesh.  Have I nothing else to blog about? (On second thought......nevermind.) I'm referring to the cycle of having to return back to uni after a blissful two months of doing nothing but eat, sleep, online, watch TV, dramas and anime, endure another 5 months of hellish work and assignments, and back to the holidays. I mean, after two months of eat-sleep-online-watch-TV-dramas-and-anime, it's definitely hard to come back to non-civilization. (I mean Bangi.) I'll miss my mum and dad, my little bro (now all alone at home). I'll miss not having to do anything (and by anything  I mean house chores and such). (Yes, my mum spoils me rotten ! >.<) I'll miss my bed (currently adorning a dark rich maroon which I simply love ! I mean, the colour just makes it look slimmer !) (Hm, maybe I should make it into a dress someday.) I'll miss my cudd...
