Sushi !! Yummmmm

I tried making some sushi that was inspired by the ones my course mates had made and sold as part of their Entrepreneurship course.

When I had a taste of them, they were realllyyyy good !

So I wrote down all the ingredients and swore to myself to have a shot at making them myself when it was the holidays !




So, now it is the holidays, I was kinda excited to make them ! :D

(Actually, I had forgotten all about them. I only remembered the sushi when I was finalllyyy clearing up some of my luggage -- which was taking up half my room's floor space >.< -- and I found the slip of paper on which I'd written the ingredients. But let's just say I was super excited and couldn't wait to make them, aite? xD)



My family can testify that this is some really good sushi !!! And it's pretty simple to make, really. So if you want to have a try........


Here's what you need:

1) Chopped carrots, cucumbers and scrambled egg



2) Pieces of bread, with the crusts removed



3) Seaweed



4) Mayonnaise 






Once you've got all the ingredients, it's really simple.

Lay the seaweed out on the piece of bread first. I used the ones that people usually eat as snacks. They were actually just the right size and length for half a slice of bread ! :) Then place a piece of two (your discretion) of carrot and cucumber. Next is the scrambled egg. 


Then you put a little gob of mayonnaise on all of that. Finally, you slowly and carefully roll the piece of bread from one end all the way to the other. (To make it a little easier to roll the piece of bread, I would suggest you flatten it first.)  


Voila ! You've got your sushi !

I just realized that I forgot to take a picture of the finished product. Darn.





I know, it doesn't feel like sushi when it's bread. But hey, give it a try. It's simple, and it's quite yummy, I assure you :D





(Oh, btw, there's supposed to be sausage in there too. But after I had boiled the cocktail sausages and left them to cool in the pot, I promptly forgot all about them. I discovered them, still soaking in now cold water, all wrinkly and pale-looking, like all the taste's been seeped out of them, much much later, after I was done rolling all the pieces of bread. They ended up as side-dishes to our sushi. What a waste of cocktail sausages ! And they tasted rather bland from having been soaked a good hour >.<)

(So if you're planning on trying to make this particular sushi, don't forget the sausages ya? :P)

nooooo, t'aint sushi if there's no vinegared rice. the word "sushi" itself refers to the rice! unforgivable!

if japan invades again, it'll be all your fault.

on a more serious note, haven't tried your take so it might be really delicious for all i know :)

Ahaha, yeah. I bet their Japaneses satellites have picked up on my slander of their beloved sushi by replacing vinegared rice with half slices of bread and they're planning an invasion right now ! OH NOOOOOOO~ xD

You should try it. It's simple, and it's niceeeee :D
